Willoughby Cobbe who survived infancy. as far as is klnown.
There is no trace of him in the Little Marlow Parish Registers, other than recording his Baptism

There were three births and, sadly, two deaths in infancy, at Little Marlow. These are recorded in the Little Marlow Parish Registers.
The entries are shown, in italics, as follows
Little Marlow Parish Registers 1790 "Willoughby, Son of the Rev'd Mr Richard Chaloner Cobbe and Sarah his wife was born August the 26th
& baptized 18-Oct-1790
Baptismal Register - 1790
The forename Willoughby no doubt derives from the related Willoughby family. It was also the first name of his mother Sarah Burslem's eldest brother Willoughby James Burlsem of the 22nd Foot - later the Cheshire Regiment. A family tree inherited from Major Kenneth Archibald Holland TD, suggested that Willoughby Cobbe had two daughters; France Emily Cobbe and Caroline Cobbe. This has now been shown to be incorrect as have other highly regarded accounts in regard to Charles Marshall Godolphin Cobbe. Census returns and Parish Registers show that Frances Emily Cobbe, born c1819, Caroline Eliza Cobbe, born 1816 and Charles Marshall Godolphin Cobbe, born 1821, were siblings and the children of Marshall Godolphin Cobbe, Master Mariner (1785-1821) and his wife Elizabeth Catherine Hammond. As Godolphin descendents, the sisters and possibly brother Charles were involved with the Godolphin Girls School in Salisbury, Wilts.
16th April 2011 Sadly, as with his sister Rosamond Caroline Cobbe and brother Sydney Godolphin Cobbe no more can be said about Willoughy Cobbe. He appears to have survived infancy and the webmaster is pleased to be able to say that Willoughby Cobbe born 26th August 1790, and all his siblings live on in this website and in the memory of his sister Charlotte Godolphin Cobbe's descendents, even now in the 21st Century. Indeed, this website is testimony to their memory, many of whom gained great prominence in the Military, Naval, Commercial, Legal and Ecclesiastical life of this and other countries.

Extensive, but clearly non-exhaustive, searches have been made by the webmaster but, to date, further information on Willoughby has not been found. One lives in hope.
