Somewhere in what was once the St Sepulchre churchyard, lies the body of 15 year old Charles Marshall Godolphin Cobbe, His father, (William) Marshall Godolphin Cobbe, Master Mariner, RN, attended Christ's Hospital (1793 - 1800) on the basis of consanguinity to his ancestor's great uncle Sir Wolston Dixie Bart (c1524 - 1594). Sir Wolstan was Alderman & Lord Mayor of London, as well as President (1590 - 1593 ) of and Benefactor to, Christ's Hospital, He was also Master of the Skinners' Livery Company. According to the Parish Burial Regiser Charles was living in Skinner Street at the time of his death. According to the Pearce source, Christ's Hospital was across the road from St. Sepulchre. The writer wishes he had known when taking this photograph 22 Feb 2010!
